Die Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung lädt zum Webtalk „Brauchen wir eine stärkere transnationale Perspektive? LSBTIQ*-Aktivismus in Moldau und Serbien“ ein.
Am 16. Januar von 14:00–15:15 Uhr diskutieren LSBTIQ*-Aktivist*innen aus Moldau und Serbien online über aktuelle politische Entwicklungen und deren Auswirkungen auf ihre Arbeit. Im Gespräch mit Vertreter*innen von GENDERDOC-M (Moldau) und Rainbow Ignite (Serbien) geht es u. a. um die Entwicklung von queerem Aktivismus, internationale Förderstrukturen, den Einfluss geopolitischer Akteur*innen und um Unterstützungsbedarfe vor Ort.

Moldau und Serbien sind (noch) keine EU-Mitgliedstaaten. Dennoch prägen EU-Politiken und -Werte den politischen Kontext stark. In beiden Ländern existieren menschenrechtliche Diskurse neben starken konservativen und religiösen Kräften. Russischer politischer Einfluss stellt eine zusätzliche Herausforderung für demokratische Initiativen dar. Die Zivilgesellschaft beider Länder ist von Auseinandersetzungen um mehr Demokratie geprägt. Der vergleichende Blick auf Moldau und Serbien eröffnet eine produktive Perspektive, um LGBTIQ+-Aktivismus jenseits nationaler Rahmenbedingungen zu analysieren.

The conversation with representatives of GENDERDOC-M (Moldova) and Rainbow Ignite (Serbia) will address the evolving landscape of queer activism, geopolitical influences, and the impact on the local level.
Although Moldova and Serbia are not (yet) EU members, EU policies and values strongly shape their political contexts. In both countries, human rights discourses exist alongside strong conservative and religious forces. Russian political influence has become an additional challenge for democratic initiatives. In recent years, civil society in both contexts has been marked by struggles for greater democracy. Looking at Moldova and Serbia together offers a productive way to examine LGBTIQ+ activism beyond national frameworks.
